THE ISSUES
Flexibility in Use
Bike Share does not does not provide choice of use in many different aspects such as language, location GPS systems, and does not facilitate users accuracy or precision of how to use the bikes due to the lack of instruction available.
Simple and Intuitive Use
The wayfinding system and user interface at the Bike Share locations is overly complex and does not accommodate a wide variety of literary and language skills.
Perceptible Information
The interface used to check out bikes is very complicated and difficult to understand. Since many tourists use this service, it also lacks instruction and information on major attractions around the city.
Size and Space for Approach and Use
Wayfinding systems are in spots that are not easy to locate, which makes it challenging to access Bike Share spaces.
Non-Compliance Problems
The complexity of Bike Share's check out interface results in decreased usage from both local residents and tourists. The current interface does not accommodate a range of users, as it expects users to have prior knowledge about the steps that need to be taken to use a bike. Since the system also relies on cellular data for payment, it discourages those travelling or those without a smartphone to use the service, resulting in non-equitable use.

SOLUTION - PROPOSED CHANGES
After an immense amount of research about Bike Share's audience, finances, assets and brand, we can up with solutions for each of the issues preventing the bikes from being accessible.
Bike Shelter and Bikes
To make Bike Share shelters more visible, we will incorporate a roof which also provides shelter from different weather conditions. The roof will be made of solar panels, powering the integrated touch-screen interface. We have also adjusted the spacing between the bikes so that they are more accessible. We have used high contrast colours to make the stand attractive and easier to locate. The overall form of the stand also allows the stand to be easier identifiable. Finally, a timer and GPS are to be added to the bike to inform users of time elapsed and location.

This solar-powered GPS system is to be installed on each bike to deter riders from using their cellphones while riding. It is also advantageous to tourists who may not have functional phones or cellular data.
The Interface - Check Out at Shelter
A touch screen interface will be added to each shelter, allowing users to rent their bikes and make their payments. This user-friendly system uses high contrast, improving legibility, and is available in many languages, making it accessible to tourists.
